90 percent of businesses and enterprises in the capital have Internet access, computer and mobile phone, according to data from the study “The Information Technology and Communications Company of the City of New York”, prepared for City Council Economic Area.

The data from this study, like that done for the Spanish case, prepared by the same consultant for the Spanish Association of Information Technology and Communications (AETIC) show that the more traditional aspects in the use of these technologies are largely overcome.

Other indicators also remain stable, but at relatively low levels, unlike the previous case, as with the number of companies that have a web page (56.4% in the city of Madrid by 47.6% in Spain).

Although the percentage of companies that buy online (47.7% in the city by 39.8% in Spain, mainly raw materials, computer equipment and office and travel) increases slightly in both areas over the previous year, the number of Internet companies that sold remains very stable at a very low level, close to 8%.
